Asus Clarifies RTX 5070 Ti Status Amid Ongoing GPU Supply Uncertainty

The global graphics card market is once again facing uncertainty after Asus issued conflicting statements regarding the availability of its RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. The company has now confirmed that the GPU has not been discontinued, attributing earlier claims to internal miscommunication during a period of tight component supply.

Earlier this week, Asus appeared to suggest that its RTX 5070 Ti production was being phased out, citing supply limitations. That position quickly drew attention across the PC hardware community, particularly as retailers and reviewers reported difficulty sourcing the card. However, Asus has since formally corrected the record, stating that neither the RTX 5070 Ti nor the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB has been designated as end-of-life.

In a revised statement, the company acknowledged that its previous messaging was based on incomplete information shared internally. Asus emphasized that it continues to sell both models and has no plans to halt production.

The confusion unfolded as industry observers attempted to verify whether the reported supply issues were the result of discontinuation or temporary shortages. While availability remains limited in several regions, Asus now attributes the situation to broader constraints affecting the semiconductor industry, particularly shortages of conventional DRAM and NAND memory.

These memory supply challenges have already begun to impact GPU pricing and inventory across multiple manufacturers. Asus explained that fluctuating access to memory components has reduced production output, making certain models harder to find without signaling their retirement.

Nvidia, for its part, has reiterated that RTX 5070 Ti chips remain in production and that shipments of GeForce GPUs are continuing. The company says it is working with partners to improve memory availability, though it stopped short of guaranteeing stable retail stock levels in the near future.

For consumers, the clarification provides some reassurance that the RTX 5070 Ti is not being quietly phased out. Still, with supply chains under pressure and high demand persisting, consistent availability of mid-to-high-end graphics cards remains uncertain in many markets.
